Positive review since negatives already exits

So Friday was interesting, and I have positive and negatives to spew before I'm done - but the internet is full of negative reviews of Ebay companies and UPS. So, let's get into it.

Friday started out with the excitement that I would be playing with my new Canon 50D, an upgrade from my Canon Rebel Xti; anyways I digress. My UPS tracking information, the previous evening, showed that my camera was in Anchorage, Alaska (same city I was in) and so the UPS truck should be driving to its location some time today. Just in case, I logged in that morning and I saw the following, "RECEIVER STATED THEY DID NOT ORDER AND REFUSED THIS DELIVERY/SHIPPER REQUESTED RETURN OF PACKAGE (RESOLUTION)." Obviously my heart sank. I instantly dialed the 800 number to UPS to figure out what the issue was, after about 5 minutes of being on hold, the lady that picked up informed me that it was indeed not going to reach its destination because the shipper requested that the package be returned.

This boggled me, why would they ask for it to be returned? Perplexed, I called up ShopSunshine.com, the Ebay company that sold me the company, to get some answers. I spoke with Sebastian and he immediately apologized for the inconvenience and began trying to figure out what the issue was. He told me that the package was being shipped to a PO Box and that UPS didn't ship to PO Boxes. Unfortunately, this is where their mistake lied, I gave them a physical address they just shipped to my credit card address; why UPS didn't say, "Wait, we only ship to physical addresses is beyond me." Or, how it even got ALL the way to Alaska before getting returned is beyond me.

Anyways, the issue is that the package was labeled to not "Reroute" which tells UPS that they are not allowed to change the shipping address; so, since the address was a PO BOX they just said, "Ship it back."

Anyways, long story short, UPS held the package for me at their Airport terminal and allowed me to pick it up. Hats off to you UPS for going against the grain and helping your customer out.

ShopSunshine instantly began shipping me a new package (they didn't simply wait for the current package to be shipped back and then re-ship it) so that I was pleased, and that did please me and made me impressed; if you ever need digital anything - shop with shopsunshine.com through ebay - they will make your experience wonderful.

In the end - all companies contain humans, thus there will be mistakes (and we all hear about them on the blogs and videos), but where I judge a companies character and value of the customer is how they take responsibility of their mistakes.

So - my hat's off to UPS and ShopSunshine.com - thanks for the great experience, that could have been a let down.

Thanks everyone,

Greg Whitworth

Dear William Christopher Whitworth,

So I did the math the other day and I realized that it's been roughly 8 years since I've seen my brother for any good period of time. And since the complex where he is staying is hard to get the mail to its desired recipient, I thought I'd try another method to get in touch with my brother, Chris Whitworth (William Christopher Whitworth). I hope that he, like most of us, Google's himself at some point and stumbles upon my blog.

So...

Dear Chris,

I hope that things are going well in Jersey, and I just wanted to drop you a little note once a week to give you an update on where I'm at in life, so that you know we all miss you and can't wait for you to join our family again.

Rachel turned 3 this week, you would like her, she is very sweet but full of attitude so she is a blast to be around. She keeps thinking that she is 5 years old, because we had 3 birthdays for her 3 year old birthday, so she's kind of confused.

Matthew (the youngest), is getting so big, so fast - we can't capture it fast enough. He continues to torment his sister - and that makes him a little brother I guess.

This morning we got about 3 inches of snow, which is kind of annoying seeing as how spring was supposed to be here! UGH! The snow was almost completely gone, so that means we get to go through break up all over again.

Mom and Dad were supposed to go to Maryland, but they got stuck in Alaska due to Mt. Redoubt erupting over and over again, that all flights were canceled. So they had to vacation in state. I feel very bad for them, they had all kinds of plans that will now have to wait until the fall.

Well - I hope that you find these letters some how and understand that we miss and LOVE you very much bud. You're in our prayers.

Love - Your little Brother,

Greg

Rachel Turns 3

, originally uploaded by Greg2448.

Well, another day has gone by, and another year has as well. Rachel, our little girl, is now 3 and is continuing to look older and older.

She was so excited about it being her birthday, but she was also a little coi, but she had a great day all together.
My Tahoe wasn't working so my father-in-law and his family came over and wished Rachel a happy birthday - and watched her open her big present: A BIKE. She loved it and almost ran me over with it.

Matthew took a ride on it as well, we'll have to get him one this summer I'm sure.

Spinning

Well,

This is just a short post about the kids. They have been acting silly again, but this time we caught their cuteness on tape. So without further a due, here are the kids simply spinning and giggling.

Snow Day

Hey Everyone,

We got about 7 inches (as of now - it is still falling) of the white fluffy stuff. As we looked out the window Karen and I knew that today was the perfect day to introduce Matthew to sledding because the flakes were so big (the flakes are usually larger at warmer temps). So we bundled them up (I say we, but Karen did most of that - thanks babe), headed out the door to play in the snow. Rachel loved it! She ran around and started throwing snow balls, that weren't actually snow balls since the snow wasn't wet enough to compact it. But we have about a 10 - 15 degree slope that allows for a decent sledding hill for youngsters.

So check out the video below of the fun, and check out the pics HERE!

Windows is Learning

Just wanted to let you guys know that Windows 7 is looking like Windows is waking up to reality. Mac is stealing the show and Vista’s marketing mishap ( make that a lack of marketing ), enabled consumers to only hear what techies released during the beta versions. Well Windows seems to be listening to complaints and has begun releasing Alpha versions of its new OS set to be released in the near future. Here are 30 of the top upgrades to Windows 7.

MSI Party

So my new company that I work for was generous enough to throw a 'Holiday Party' this past weekend for all of the employees at Alyeska resort. So after checking in to our room we went to the party and enjoyed jazz music, Pepsi from the bar, a magic show, and Karaoke from the staff. It was a great time and great way to get to know the staff better. Check out the photos.

I would just like to say thank you to Laurie, Lana, Grant, and Shelley for either putting it on or working to give MSI a great weekend. Thank you.

New Website [BETA]

So I finally got a little working time to work on our Whitworth Gallery site. I created a data driven art gallery which allows Karen to actually edit all of the information and automatically populate a paypal button and I am just curious of my friend's thoughts on the site. Not all of the sorting works yet, but pricing - title - and subject does. Just let me know if I am missing something that would make life easier for you guys.

Thanks Guys,

Greg

NOTE: If you end up buying a print, you won't get it because the prices aren't correct as this isn't a live site!!
